I came across the Formulas question type in moodle quiz. It is quite programmable in generating questions with randomized parameters. It suits my teaching design the most. I have thus asked our university to include the plugin in our moodle system.
As always, there is a cost of learning how to write such question type. I hope the following resources can serve as an introduction to beginners.
