I received an email from a student thanking me for ECON1210 (Introductory Microeconomics).
Her message was full of encouraging words not just to me and my teaching team, but also to many students who have received misleading information from their seniors.

Dear Dr. Ka-fu Wong,
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience I had in your Introduction to Microeconomics (ECON1210) course this semester. Initially, I heard many negative feedback from seniors about the course, but I quickly realized they were mistaken.
I want to personally thank you for the support and guidance you provided throughout the semester. Despite my struggles in the midterms and finals, I really gave it my best studying up till very late for a few weeks and although my performance may not have met my own expectations, I genuinely appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow as a person in your class. I have met many new friends from doing ECON1210 and I believed it was a very good experience as we would discuss questions from the past papers etc.
Your dedication to our success was evident from the start. Providing past papers and offering guidance like the Midterm Superpass or the Final Superpass made a significant difference in our understanding of the subject, for example, if I didn't understand some questions, I could search it up in the Superpass corner on Moodle. Despite the challenges, I genuinely enjoyed the learning process and felt motivated to put in the effort.
Your passion for economics and your ability to simplify complex concepts made the course engaging and enjoyable. I am grateful for the positive impact you have had on my perspective of the course. Your enthusiasm and dedication have inspired me and deepened my appreciation for economics. I will make sure to share my positive experience with my juniors, so they approach your course without fear.
